If I could have interviewed Jesus back when he walked the earth, what would I say ... 

I could have done a 60 minute special ... asked the hard hitting questions ... been the IT journalist in BC.

But the one question I have today is ... Why am I always running on empty?


Why can I read Ephesians and hear about the power that we have through Jesus ... yet still feel like these words are for everyone else, not me ... or I start off with such momentum and find the energy to sustain me diminishes fast.


Yet as I am writing this, the aha moment just hit ... it is not about me ... it is about putting Jesus first.  Not only asking Him for the power but continually asking Him to top up my tanks ... to fill up my Love tanks so that I can keep on being kind and patient and Loving.  Because in my own strength it is not possible but with God all things are possible.

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:16-19

I am going to put this verse up on my inspiration wall ... to begin a year of Love ... with putting God first.

Feel the smile this brings to your face ... now think of someone who needs love and encouragement ... send them some Love.

welcome to 2012 ... Love

hello world ...

My word for this year is LOVE.

2012 is the year to enlarge my capacity and understanding of Love.

To discover all that God has for me.  To Grow and Learn more.

 In my reading recently I came across 3 John ... to think that this letter written centuries ago and would be so relevant today ... a new lesson learned for me ... what's important is people and relationships ... building Love ... but first gaining a new appreciation for His Love freely given ...

The elder, 

To my dear friend Gaius, whom I love in the truth. 

  Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.  It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it.  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 

  Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters, even though they are strangers to you.  They have told the church about your love. Please send them on their way in a manner that honors God.  It was for the sake of the Name that they went out, receiving no help from the pagans.  We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth. 

 I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church. 

  Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.  Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone—and even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him, and you know that our testimony is true.
  I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink.  I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face.

 What I hear so clearly is the Love in the heart of this writer ... truth and love.

A letter of integrity ... of struggles to build community in love ... a foundation in love.

This verse has been such a blessing to me.

Lakshmi Pratury on letter-writing

Hello everyone ...

I am a big fan of sending a handwritten card ... and the possibility of a resurgence in handwriting does excite me ... the personal touch of caring words and seeing someones personality on paper ... so when I saw this Ted Talk, I was  ... Yes Yes Yes!

What a great idea ... something for your family and friends to cherish.

My grandmother sent me a letter many years ago ... talking about her life and her grief over my husband dying, it was an amazing gift of insight into her personality and was the first time I actually saw her as a woman and not just my grandmother.  Years later when she died ... I would read the letter to remember her ... and feel her voice through the pages.  She was a big influence on my life.  I am very thankful for that letter.

Don't waste any time ... start building relationships while you are still alive ... send a handwritten letter.

After having a weekend of sunshine and family ... I am counting my lucky stars ... and feeling the Love.

I have decided to challenge myself ... to start approaching life with an open heart ...

 Hey Everyone ... Jewel wrote this great song 'Ten' about stepping back from situations and not acting irrationally ... not doing something you might regret ...

... what she speaks of are great tools to use ... breathing to keep calm ... stepping back ... stop and think ... count to 10 ... looking at the big picture ...

... often we fight the most with the ones we love ... try practicing patience and counting to 10 ...
