discovering my uniqueness ...

 

Taste and see that the LORD is good;
   blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

Recently I have started to think about why I get up everyday.  The God factor is my given ... He is my number one ... but what else motivates me ... what is important to me ... what is it that pushes me.

Is it my ego ... because I am a very competitive person ... is it the desire to prove the world wrong ... is it the need to be good at something ... is it my inner God voice saying 'do this for me' ...

To be honest I do feel like my life is driven ... 

maybe this driving force is really just the battle to find my creative voice ... I don't want to imitate or copy other peoples art ... I want to find that sweet spot in my art ... to discover my colors, style and media ... to discover what my uniqueness is.

... somewhere deep inside is this little girl who just wants to create beautiful masterpieces ... but I am still discovering what that really looks like for me ...


The last few years have been a huge journey in stepping out into what I love to do ... I have come far ... but feel like there is still a world of discovery awaiting ...

Now ... the reasoning for LOVE being my word this year is becoming more apparent ... this is a journey that only Love can take ... accepting, loving and embracing all that makes me ... once again God has been gently whispering in my ear and opening my heart to a greater understanding of Love ... and I didn't even know it.

LOVE is the key to this one I just know it!

Getting unstuck ...

Sometimes when we get stuck we just need a little help to start moving again.

Whether it is listening to an inspiring speaker or watching an uplifting movie ... sometimes a weekend away ... or a holiday in the sunshine to refresh the spirits ... an encouraging word from a friend just when you needed it ... or a small surprise that makes you smile.

When stuckness comes it needs more than one small jolt to move it on ... often it takes a a few small pushes and one big aha moment to dislodge the sticky and move us into a new place of action.

... many times we look and find these encouragements outside of our circle of support ... but why don't we look to our friends first ... as the saying goes ' to have a friend you must first be one'.

So the challenge is to be that encouragement and support for our friends and family.   Why does it seem so much harder to be the cheer squad for someone we know?  It shouldn't be!  Especially when we know the hopes and dreams our friends have ... be that constant encouragement.  Listen and hear when your friends need a booster and be there for them ... their own private cheer squad. 

You + Me + GOD ... 

Don't forget to use the God Factor ... your best secret weapon against fear and stuckness.

That is exactly the reason I started GodTags ... to encourage us all to tell the people in our lives that they are valued and loved ... to encourage them to be the best they can be ...

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Colour 2012 celebration

I spent the weekend at Colour Conference ... and it was totally what I needed.

God just confirmed to me that I need to keep on and push through this blockage I have about selling my product.  'Not my strength but His.'  Conference spoke of the ground ploughed by past generations and the call on our lives to step up, to continue their good work for future generations.

It was like a Giant Smile that started from the inside out ...

10,000 women in the Entertainment center praising God!

Thanks Hillsong for listening to the call ... and giving us the space to unite and celebrate Jesus.

Passionate about a Cure

Jen's fundraiser dinner was a great success ... she raised $13, 202 ... but not only is this lady a champion fundraiser and a courageous marathon runner to be ... she is also a survivor ... a lady with a story to share with the world and a passion to see cancer cured.

After Saturday night with a gift bag in hand ... having eaten amazing food by Agape Restaurant ... and  heard about resilience and strength and family and faith and frailty and kick ass passion ...

My heart has been built up ... to see a group of people gathering to celebrate a life that has a lot more living to do ... I came away changed ... empowered to be the best I can be and encouraged that a cure will be by 2030.
